El Institut Català de la Salut (ICS) ha implantado una solución informática corporativa dentro del proyecto de digitalización y almacenamiento de los datos biomédicos producidos por los diferentes equipos ubicados en las torres de anestesia de los quirófanos de los hospitales. La nueva plataforma ha sido diseñada por Better Care, compañía biotecnológica que desarrolla soluciones de software basadas en inteligencia artificial para la monitorización continua del paciente.

El nuevo sistema, con un coste anual de 258.000 €, permite que los datos biométricos generados por las torres de anestesia de los 162 quirófanos puedan compartir datos durante el tiempo que dure la monitorización de cada paciente atendido en el quirófano, ahorrando la tarea de registro de datos por parte del profesional sanitario, ya que el sistema los recoge automáticamente de los dispositives de quirófano. El objetivo es reducir y optimizar la carga de trabajo del equipo clínico al permitir que grandes cantidades de datos se revisen a la vez y que se incorporen al sistema de información de los hospitales (ARGOS), lo que facilitará la toma de decisiones y permitirá una mejor atención del paciente durante el proceso quirúrgico.

Los quirófanos son entornos complejos en los cuales todo el equipo operatorio está sometido a una gran exigencia y a labores de elevada atención y precisión. Durante los últimos años, la llegada de numerosas tecnologías avanzadas ha convertido estas áreas en lugares más complejos y con numerosos dispositivos y pantallas.

Con el objetivo de facilitar la labor de los profesionales sanitarios y de garantizar la máxima seguridad del paciente, BC Link, el sistema diseñado por Better Care se encargará de integrar, procesar e interpretar todos los datos (ondas, signos vitales, tendencias y alarmas) de los dispositivos conectados al paciente en tiempo real, así como de formular hipótesis y predecir eventos críticos gracias a la inteligencia artificial. Además, el nuevo software es compatible con todos los fabricantes que conviven en un hospital; esto facilita la operatividad de esta tecnología y optimiza el tiempo y los recursos humanos y técnicos.

Asimismo, todos estos parámetros y señales de las áreas quirúrgicas de los hospitales del ICS se integrarán de manera automática en su Repositorio global de variables (*RGV) y de ahí a la Estación de Trabajo Clínica del Sistema ARGOS, facilitando la monitorización del paciente de manera remota.

En este sentido, el proyecto alcanza todas las áreas quirúrgicas pertenecientes a los hospitales de la red del ICS: el Hospital Universitario Vall d’Hebrón, el Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge, el Hospital Universitario Germans Trias, el Hospital Universitario de Girona Dr. Josep Trueta, el Hospital Universitario Arnau de Vilanova, el Hospital Universitario Joan XXIII de Tarragona, el Hospital de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta y el Hospital de Viladecans y el Hospital de Santa Caterina (IAS), a través de un convenio con el ICS.

Este sistema se ha iniciado con pruebas piloto a lo largo del mes de septiembre y será implementado en todos los hospitales de forma progresiva, conjuntamente con la nueva Estació de Treball Quirúrgica de l’Anestesiòleg, en el proyecto ARGOS, SALUT 4D.

“Nuestro trabajo durante más de 12 años de la mano de gestores hospitalarios nos ha permitido adaptar nuestras soluciones para dar respuesta a las necesidades reales de la gestión sanitaria y la práctica clínica. Es un honor formar parte de este gran proyecto del ICS y aportar todo nuestro conocimiento y experiencia en inteligencia artificial e interoperabilidad de datos aplicada al entorno quirúrgico”, ha explicado Xavier García, director general de Better Care.

El nuevo Sistema de información asistencial cumple los requisitos establecidos por la Ley Orgánica de protección de datos de carácter personal (*LOPD), del Reglamento de medidas de seguridad de los ficheros automatizados que contengan datos de carácter personal (*RO 994 / 1999), y de toda otra norma relacionada que esté de aplicación, garantizando la máxima seguridad de los datos tratados y de su almacenamiento.
